Alquézar. Medieval village
Alquézar is a municipality in the region of Barbastro Somontano, is located in the Sierra and canyons of Guara Natural Park, ideal for the practice of adventure sports as the descent of canyons, caving, canyoning, climbing, hiking, horseback riding and mountain bike routes.
Medieval village with a charming urban area in a privileged natural surrounding. It has a medieval-style arcaded square with arched portals and surrounded by buildings of the XIV and XV centuries. Its narrow cobbled streets, make you go back to the Middle Ages. In 1982 it was declared a Historic-Artistic.
The Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor, is the most visited monument in the region, with its cloister of Romanesque capitals and its XVI century organ.
Museum of the seventeenth century with Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque works.
The Ethnological Museum Casa Fabián used to understand the history of the town and its region, the Somontano.
Also this town has examples of rock art in the Vero River Cultural Park, and are declared a World Heritage Site.
